WELSH COURSES FOR THE EDUCATION WORKFORCE

Are you interested in learning Welsh or are you interested in improving your Welsh? If you have answered 'yes' to either of these questions, why not follow one of the residential courses tailored to meet the needs of the education workforce in Wales? Note that the courses are fully funded, full-board residential courses. Costs for travelling and supply for the school are not included.
*Entry 1 Course Education Sector - This is an opportunity for individuals who work in schools in Wales and are at the start of their language journey to study on a residential course at Gwersyll yr Urdd, Llangrannog. Tutors from Nant Gwrtheyrn will teach on the course and Nant Gwrtheyrn will manage the administrative elements.
This course will give learners a boost to start using incidental Welsh in their workplace. The course will focus on language phrases seen in the national Entry 1 course but will pay particular attention to vocabulary suitable for a school environment.
*Use your Welsh at School - Confidence Building Course - This residential course is for learners at Advanced or Proficiency level and focuses on increasing skills needed by the education workforce to be able to use Welsh every day in their work. The course will focus on speaking Welsh but will also look at listening, writing and reading skills. There will be plenty of opportunities during the course to discuss how to use more Welsh at work and will also explore some of the challenges facing the learners.
Learning Welsh at Nant Gwrtheyrn is an opportunity to be immersed in the Welsh language and its culture. The overall aim of the week is to boost confidence.
*Use your Welsh at School - Confidence Building Course - Entry 1 Course Moving On - Education Sector - This is an opportunity for learners who have
completed the Entry Level Online Self-study Course and are eager to revise the content of the course and prepare for the next step. The course will be a residential course in Nant Gwrtheyrn, and it will be a great Welsh language immersion experience for learners to enjoy using their new language, a bit of Welsh culture and time to socialise with a group of individuals on the same linguistic level.
* Foundation Course Moving On Education Sector - This is an opportunity for learners who have completed the Foundation Level Online Self-study Course and are eager to revise the content of the course and prepare for the next step. The course will be a residential course in Nant Gwrtheyrn, and it will be a great Welsh language immersion experience for learners to enjoy using their new language, a bit of Welsh culture and time to socialise with a group of
individuals on the same linguistic level.
* Entry 1 and 2 Course Education Sector - This is an opportunity for individuals working in schools in Wales who are at the beginning of their
language journey, to study on an extended residential course with Nant Gwrtheyrn.
This includes:
Residential Week 1 at Nant Gwrtheyrn*
6 online lessons Residential Week 2 at Nant Gwrtheyrn*
One online support session at the end of the period
The aim of this course is to rapidly increase the skills of new speakers and to give them the confidence to use simple Welsh in their day-today work. This will enable them to contribute proactively to the Welsh environment of their schools.
