UCAC warns of the challenges facing schools and further education colleges
UCAC teaching union has warned today of the challenges facing schools and further education colleges to provide a broad curriculum choice for those pupils receiving their GCSE results tomorrow.
"Due to financial constraints resulting in cuts in staffing and resources it is becoming increasingly difficult for schools and colleges to maintain the breadth of curriculum choice for post 16 students", said Elaine Edwards, UCAC's General Secretary.
"It is important for the future of these young people and also for the future success of our education system and our economic growth as a country for a range of academic and vocational courses of a high standard to be on offer. UCAC urges all political parties to make education and education funding a priority".
