Joint union response to Government proposals following the STRB's 27th Report
The education unions (UCAC, NUT, NAHT, ASCL, ATL and VOICE) have issued a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Education calling on the Government to ensure that the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document provides all teachers with a pay increase in line with the STRB recommendations for the relevant pay range.

A momentous achievement for the trade union movement in Wales
UCAC welcomes the result of the vote in the Senedd yesterday that overwhelmingly supported and passed the Trade Union (Wales) Bill. At the final vote (known as Stage 4), we saw 38 AMs vote in favour, with 13 AMs voting against and no abstentions.
This is a momentous achievement for the whole of the trade union movement in Wales, particularly for our social partnership approach of working with government and public sector employers in dealing with disagreements before they become disputes. The Bill is also a testament of the success of devolution in Wales, where we have a government that recognises the importance of working with trade unions in strengthening our public sector.

Welcoming a new member to the team
It's a period of change here in UCAC's head office as we say goodbye to Delyth Jones who was the union's Membership and Finance Secretary for nearly 30 years. Delyth was well known to our members all over Wales as the first point of contact to those phoning the head office and as the one welcoming members to UCAC's stand at both the Urdd and National Eisteddfod. Thank you Delyth for your long and distinguished service to the Union.

The National Survey of the Education Workforce results strengthens UCAC’s findings on teacher workload
UCAC welcomes today’s statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Education on the findings of the National Survey of the Education Workforce. We support carrying out a similar survey every 2-3 years as a means to see how the situation develops within the profession over time.
